Use Cut Contour for logos and illustrations
Cut Contour is best when the silhouette is part of the design. Transparent artwork gives the tool a clear outside edge. When a raster image has a solid background, automatic background removal helps identify the logo instead of the original file rectangle.
- Best for logos, mascots, lettering, and irregular art
- White border starts at 0 and can be increased
- Preview the cutline before ordering
Use circle, square, or rounded for a consistent frame
A geometric shape is useful when the background should remain, the design is already a label, or multiple designs need a uniform footprint. The builder smart-fits artwork within the selected finished size.
- Circle for seals and badges
- Square for compact label layouts
- Rounded for rectangular packaging art
Why a rectangle sometimes appears
JPG files do not support transparency. If the background reaches every outside edge, software sees one solid rectangle. Use a transparent PNG or vector file when possible, or keep automatic background removal enabled for Cut Contour.
